Week 5 Reading Samoan Week

 

This week for reading we did some stuff about Samoa because this week it is
Samoan Language Week. I read some books and i also got to create a drawing
on a piece of paper, i really liked doing the word search so we could try find
Samoan words, i even got to make a poster to teach my parents how to count 
to ten in Samoan language. my favorite part for reading this week was When 
i made the drawing on my Chromebook.

Writing Week 5

 1. Samoa is Known for its magical waterfalls and pools such as the scenic togitogiga waterfalls. But its best known as the cradle of Polynesia because savai'i island is said to be hawaiki,the Polynesian homeland.

2. There is only one city in Samoa called Apia. The capital city of Samoa, is the only city in the country. it is located in the island of Upolu which is the Country's biggest island.

3. Samoa is 3,000 years old. it has a bit of history in Samoa. Guided by the stars the Polynesian Ancestors made Their way Across the pacific in oceans faring canoes thousands of years ago.

4.Samoan people cook food like green bananas and taro which can be either boiled or roasted,sapasui(Samoan chop suey),pisupo(canned corn beef),povi masima(corned beef), Coconut cream and onion cooked in taro leaves, and much more delicious food.

5.The traditional ladies clothing for Samoan is called the puletasi which is a matching skirt and tunic with Samoan designs. the lava lava is a sarong which my be worn by men or woman. there are different patterns and colors on the lava lavas but they tend to be plain for men who may wear it as an official uniform.

6. For Samoan colors their are four traditional colors in Samoan siapo making(Brown, Dark brown,red,and black.they are all made out of natural ingredients,such as clay, sap,seeds,and bark.
