Term 4 Week 8 Distance Learning 2021

 

Hello,
For this weeks learning i did alot of things including reading, writing, and maths.
Firstly for Reading i did things like if video games (Esports) should be in the Olymipics
andi answered some quesions and gave my perspective if video games (Esports)
should be in the Olympics. Not only that but i also was reading an articale about
skateboarding and if they should take skateboarding away from the olympics.
I also gave my perspective if Skateboarding should still be in the Olympics.
Next for Writing i wrote a little poem about if i were a creeper in minecraft and
i wrote that poem if it was in the future. Lastly for maths i sovled some answers
that i was supposed to do and worked out how to make a chart about what i do
ever day. One more thing about maths is that i also did some fractions.

Week 7 T4 2021 Distance Learning LCS

 

Hello, For this weeks learning i did lots and lots of stuff including Reading,
Writing, and maths. Firstly for Reading i read a few online articals and then
answered questions from those articals. I also chose a game that i make up
and i chose to make a game kind of like spotlight but better. For Writing i
wrote about two different types of poems. The first poem was a calligram
poem and the second one was an acrostic poem. They were both about a 
i could write about and i chose hopscotch and hide & seek. Lastly for maths
i mostly did fractions but i also learnt about BEDMAS.

Distance learning Term 4 Week 6 2021

 

Hello, Today im showing you all the learning i did this week including reading,
Writing, and maths. Firstly, for Reading i watched and made a house in minecraft
using ideas from two videos i watched. i made a house including maori designs
and eco friendly thing for my minecraft house. Not only that i also wrote down
something that i think are similar about a house with maori design and an eco 
friendly house. For Writing i did two things for writing and made a slogan or jingle
for my new transportantion whcih i also made. For the second writing piece i created
a billboard/poster for my new transport. Lastly for maths i some fractions and solved
out some questions to answer.

Online learning Term 4 Week 5 2021

 

Hello my name is Brooklyn and for this week during lockdown i did a lot of
things for Reading, Writing, and maths. For reading i created a special tooth brush
that elephants can use to brush there teeth and i created it from reading a book
about elephants. I also answered a little bit of questions about elephants toothpaste.
Then for Writing i wrote down instructions on how to make rainbow pancakes
from a video we watched but there was a catch because we couldn't hear anything so
we  had to watch it without sound. Latsly for maths i did quiet a bit of things 
like using my multiplaction and divison and l also learnt a lot more things about 
maths. My favourite thing in the learning i did this week was when i created the 
elephant toothbrush and when i came up with ideas for new packaging for food we
can use in the future : )

Writing Term 4 Week 5 2021

Purpose: To instruct

How to make Rainbow pancakes


Ingredients:

3 eggs

4 cups milk

60ml oil

1 tsp Vanilla extract

3 cups cake flour

1 tsp baking powder

Food colouring

Icing:

200g cream cheese

2 tbsp yogurt

3 cups icing sugar

Toppings:

Raspberries(optional)


Instructions:


1)  Get a bowl and add 3 eggs.


2) Then, pour in 4 cups of milk.


3) Put in 60ml of oil.


4) Add a tsp of Vanilla extract.


5) Then, mix up all of those ingredients.


6) After it’s all mixed up in a different mixing bowl add 3 cups of cake flour.


7) Then add 1 tsp of baking powder.


8) When those ingredients are in the mixing bowl add the first bowl of ingredients into the second bowl and mix altogether.


9) Once done, divide the batter into four different bowls.


10) Add four different kinds of food colouring into the four bowls of pancake mix.


11) Then, get a pan and add oil to it. 


12) pour some of the batter onto the pan and cook until all of the pancakes are done.


13) For the icing in a mixing bowl add 200g of cream cheese.


14) Then, add 2 tbsp of yogurt.


15) Lastly for the icing, put 3 cups of icing sugar and mix until it’s like an icing consistency. 


16) Once everything is ready, stack the pancakes and the icing together and once that’s finished you can add raspberries or anything else on top of the cake.

Hello, For this week's learning i did Reading, Writing, Maths, and more. Firstly
for Reading i was reading a few online books and answered a few questions
about how the boy cried wolf. Secondly for Writing i wrote a Narrative about a beast
we had to draw. From the Writing it was in san franciso where kids save the 
day. Thirdly for Maths we did a few maths questions and we had to write down
what we think and array, a row and what a collumns means. My favourite part
i did about this week was when i drew my beast for my writing.

How the beast nearly took over the world


A week ago something crazy nearly happened and it was so crazy it felt like a dream. It all started in San Francisco when we were on a family trip for a few days.

Me and my family were shopping at a mall until we got an alert on our phones about this big storm that's coming so we then ran to our hotel that we are staying in.



We had to stock up on food and drinks just in case anything horrible happens. Once it was night time we went fast asleep until I had this scary, scary dream that we just came on this same holiday and this scary beast monster came out of the sky and got bigger and bigger. Then the beast monster smashed buildings up and made a huge storm.



Once I woke up to that horrible dream I ran to my brother's room to tell him all about it. Our parents then asked us to come down for breakfast and we had eggs on pancakes with maple syrup. We suddenly heard a LOUD bang outside from the lighting and thunder.



It all looked like my dream i had when i was sleeping and we all SCREAMED when this giant monster beast came out of the sky and when it landed on the ground it got bigger and bigger. 


We got an alert to evacuate immediately before the beast crushes everything and We sprinted away from the beast. It started raining green from the beast. Me and my brother and I got a cup to collect the green rain for some reason and got far away from it. Once everything was back to normal everyone but people either got on a plane or stayed in their houses and didn’t come out.



UH OH… THE BEAST IS BACK… we ran to our car and speeded off. There is one thing that is extremely scary and weird and it's that this is exactly what happened in my dream and what we did to get rid of the beast was to pour the green rain stuff on him and then he will get burnt from it so bad that he dies so we turned around and went right up to the beast. My brother and myself poured all of the green rain on him and went far away from that monster.



He started falling and he became weak. The big beast got so burnt he died and got sucked up by the sky. After that crazy and scary day we immediately went home and never ever went back there…

Online learning Term 4 Week 3 2021

 

Welcome, For this Week's learning i did alot of things including Reading, Writing,
and maths. For reading i learnt some stories about muralsa dn learnt a bit more 
about them. I also learnt about evaluating in reading like reading what the text 
says, Finding gaps in the stories, and more. For writing i wrote a narrate about
anything iw anted but i had to choose a story starter between so there i was...
or if your overactive imagination runs away from you and you suddenly find your self...then... 
and i chose so there i was. My story was about this little kid who couldn't wait until it wait
until it was christmas because itw as christmas eve. Lastly for maths i learnt about numbers
and how to divide or subtract numbers. My favourite part of what i did this week was
when i made a mural for papkura. On the mural i drew i put some of the birds that are
native to new zealand: )

Writing Term 4 Week 4 2021

So there I was, struggling to go to sleep on christmas eve while all of my family members were fast asleep. I just couldn’t wait any longer. Once I woke up I went to my siblings rooms to wake them up. Before we went to wake up our parents we checked out the presents by the christmas tree and opened up our stockings.



Then when we woke everyone up we all went downstairs to go open our presents. Once we finished opening all of our awesome presents we put them away and had our traditional waffles and omelets for breakfast. Before we did anything else we needed to give our dog food and because it was christmas day we gave our dog delicious food for breakfast. 



Later in the afternoon we walked our dog and went to the park to go and play. While we were still on a walk we went down to the beach to feel the river and we took some family christmas photos.



We then arrived at our friend's house for christmas. We played heaps of games and ate dinner there. For dinner we

had Mashed potatoes, Cooked broccoli, cooked carrots, hash browns and chicken. After we left we convinced our parents to get ice cream for dessert.


When we got back home the day was almost over so we went for a night swim and played a whole lot of games in the pool. We watched this super cool christmas movie with this scary monster in it and stayed up ALL NIGHT without going to sleep.

Online learning Term 4 Week 2 2021

 

Hello, For this week i did a whole lot of things including Reading, Writing
and Maths. Firstly, for Reading i read a few books and learnt a bit more about
maori language with shapes. Then for Writing i wrote a letter telling Auckland 
council that we should add a playground and a little triangle fort by Pahurehure
estuary for kids. Lastly for Maths i did more stuff about shapes. Some other things
i did is that i made a fort what it could look like by the pahurehure estuary and
made a kahoot about symmetrical buildings. My favourite part about this week
was when i made the kahoot about symmetrical buildings:)

How we can have a Playground by the 

Pahurehure estuary?






Dear Auckland council,



In this persuasive writing I'm writing this to persuade the Auckland council to build a playground near the Pahurehure estuary in the future.



Firstly, I think that we should be able to have a playground by the Pahurehure estuary so then kids can have more fun there and get entertained. Another reason why we should have a playground or a fort there is because it will fill up the space where the empty grass is. 



Secondly, In the future we should build a playground or a fort for all the kids who go there to get entertained and have fun. It’s a good idea because you have more things to

do there and more options when you're by the Pahurehure estuary.


Thirdly, This will make Pahurehure inlet a much better place with the playground and fort and it would be a good idea in the future because this can be something new that they add to make it a better or more entertaining place to go to.



Lastly, One of the reason why this could make it a better place for the Pahurehure inlet is so that Everyone that goes for walks can not only enjoy going on walks but so kids can have fun playing on the playground or fort that they might add in the future for kids to enjoy.

Hello, For this week the topic is about Pahurehure inlet and ways we could improve
it. I did reading writing maths and for reading i read a few books and looked at a few
texts. for maths i learnt a lot about clocks and finding the right time to match the 
digital clock to the analogue clock. Lastly for writing we had to write about two 
different things. The first writing piece is about ways we can change/improve things
about Pahurehure inlet and the second one is about a letter telling the Auckland council
some improvments we can change about Pahurehure inlet.

How we can improve Pahurehure inlet?


Introduction

 This is about things we can change or improve about Pahurehure inlet to make it better.


Firstly, we could add rubbish bins instead of people throwing all the rubbish and litter into the water. I think we should also remove all the mangroves growing in the Pahurehure inlet. 



Secondly, We can improve Pahurehure inlet by planting more trees, flowers, or plants and have more wildlife/birds there at Pahurehure inlet.


By improving Pahurehure inlet it can become better if we all grow trees and to see more nature. And so that people don’t leave trash sitting in the water.


Thirdly, I think that if there already aren’t any signs up by the pahurehure inlet they should make a sign telling us things that we can and can not do just to remind people when they go there.


Lastly, by improving Pahurehure inlet It can be better than what it was before by planting more nature and trees there and removing mangroves that are growing.And can we give people reminders what people can and can not do there at Pahurehure inlet.

Online learning Term 3 Week 10 2021

 

Hello, for this week i have done a lot of learning like reading, writing, and maths.
For reading i read a bit of books and learnt about diabetes and what the two type
of diabetes mean. For writing i wrote a explanation about how our body works
but mainly about our brain. But before i wrote and explanation i made a plan about
it. Lastly for maths i solved some problems and did a bit of addition and subtraction.
I also learnt more about clocks to see how they work and to learn the different times.
For my create choice i used a pice of paper, a pencil, and clear tape to see what my 
fingerprint looks like on my index finger. My favourite part about this week was 
getting to learn different times on a clock and to get a better understanding of clocks.

How does our body work?

Our brain


Introduction

Our brain may not seem like the most interesting part of our body But we actually use it all the time when we are thinking of something or remembering something.


Our brain sits in our thick skull with membranes and fluid around it to protect it. Inside of our brain we have something called a cerebrum which is the biggest part of our brain and The surface of the cerebrum is called the cerebral cortex. Different parts of the cerebrum deal with different parts of the body.


Sometimes we tend to forget things in our brain and that’s called memory. There are two different kinds of memory like short term memory and long term memory but scientists are still trying to figure out how memory works. But they know that short term memory means that you remember things for a short amount of time without rehearsing or practicing it.


The brainstem is what connects to the spinal cord. Also many automatic functions are controlled here like keeping the heart beat, breathing, and digesting food.


Although the brain doesn’t move it needs lots of energy so the energy is sent to the brain by the blood. And the brain actually uses about 20 percent of the body's energy.


The brain is put into two halves. Because thenerves cross when they enter the brain, the left side of our brain controls the right half of our brain and the right side of the brain controls the left half. What each half does depends on whether you're right handed or left handed.

Hello, For today i have done a lot of work and the main topic for this week is health and physical education. I did Maths, Writing, Reading and more. For writng i wrote about me waking up with superpowers. For reading i answered some questions and even got to learn about text structures. I also Read some online books and created a DLO about healthy lifestyles and what a healthy lifestyle is. For maths i did a bit about perimeters and did some additon and multiplacation. My favourite part about this week was creating an art piece for our create choices. We got to choose one or more create choices and i chose to create an african art piece with all kinds of different patterns.

The day i woke up with superpowers


Introduction

A few days ago me and my family took a trip to New York for 2 weeks. We stayed in this very expensive hotel and because we were staying there for 2 weeks we had to bring a lot of clothes. We even got to see the Statue of Liberty from a distance. 



For Breakfast we had these amazing bagels at this breakfast place and for our drinks we had strawberry and chocolate milkshakes. When we got back to our hotel room we took another drive around New York. Once we finished eating our dinner we went on our ipads for a little bit and slowly went to sleep.



The next morning I woke up feeling dizzy and like I was floating in the air. I looked down and AHHHHHHH… I'm floating. My brother came into the room. After he saw me floating in the air he screamed at me. When we

went into the kitchen in our hotel we saw that our parents made us breakfast but they gave us a note saying that they were out shopping at the supermarket for food we can bring home. Once my mum and dad got home I couldn't tell them that I was floating in the air because then they would think that I'm not telling the truth. My parents got us some snacks we can try on the table. When I was eating the snacks I started shaking and I slowly started to...FLOAT so I ran outside before they saw that I could float and ran outside. 

I had to test out and figure out why I'm floating in the air so I just calmed down. I slowly started shaking and floated in the air and I went higher and higher. Wow, I started flying around all the buildings in New York. I was up in the air and this cape magically appeared on my back and I finally got control of myself in the air. This was the best thing that has ever happened to me. 



I pressed this button on my cape and there was fire coming out of my hand without it burning me. After that crazy moment in the air flying I went on my ipad to go check out what this cape is and where it came from. It said that the last person who wore it was called star man and that the cape chooses who to pick to become a superhero and to save the world from these very dangerous people that are super villains. One thing I can never do is to tell my parents that I'm now a superhero that can fly in the air, not even my little brother because he tells everyone everything and he never keeps secrets.

Hello, For this week i have done a lot of work. The topic for this week is balanced diets and what's healthy to eat when your doing a balanced diet. For maths i did a little bit of decimal numbers and figured out some maths problems. I read some books and i put down what's the healthiest to What's the unhealthiest foods in a food pyrimad. for writing i wrote about if everyone in the whole world were to be vegetarian. My favourite part about this week was making an origami for our home learning choice boards where you can choose any activity to do at your house. I answered some questions about healthy eating and balanced diets and created my own DLO about balanced diets and what they actually are. I did a bit more things on my slide for this week in lockdown that you can also go check out!

If everyone in the world were vegetarian


Introduction

If everyone in the world were to be vegetarian then the world we live in would be completely different to what it is like now. There would be more animals around and there would be no meat in any stores. In Supermarkets and food shops you would see everything but meat and you wouldn’t see things that vegetarians can’t eat.


One night when I was sleeping I had a dream that everyone in the whole world were to be vegetarians. All the butcher shops were turned into fruit and veges stores and at supermarkets they sold everything but meat and things vegetarians can’t eat.



After I woke up from that crazy dream I went downstairs to go make myself bacon and eggs so I checked in the fridge to see if we had any. We didn’t have any bacon so i checked in the freezer and there was nothing but vegetables and all of our meat in the freezer had disappeared. Because there was nomeat I asked my dad if he could take me to the supermarket so we could go get some bacon for breakfast.



When we arrived at the supermarket we went to where all the meat was but there was nothing there in fact there wasn’t even a label to tell if there was any meat. Because there was nothing there we just had something different for breakfast because there was no bacon at the supermarket.



When i finished eating my cereal i went on my ipad to see what's on youtube i can watch and all these videos on youtube said that all the meat around the world was gone and that we are all going to have to turn into a vegetarian. I was so shocked I sold my whole family and I remembered that I had the exact same dream if everyone in the whole world were to be vegetarians.



A few months later there is now no more meat in the world because it just magically disappeared out of nowhere. When I first found out the whole world was now turning into vegetarians I was sad because w e had no more meat but now it’s alright. For breakfast we have pancakes, For lunch we have salad, and for dinner we have vegetarian free burgers with no meat.

For this week i did Reading, Writing and Maths and it's about superheros and
villians. For Reading i read a few books and answered some questions that we had 
to answer about superheros and villians. For Maths i learnt about negative numbers
and negative decimal numbers. For Writing i got to choose some ideas to write 
about superheros and villians. I chose to write about the avengers saving new york 
city from the villians destroying. The fun stuff i got to do was making a wanted sign
with superheros on it, making a superhero mask and making butterfly origami's for 
our Home choice board.

How superheros saved the world


Introduction

Main character:Loki, Iron man, Thor, Hulk, hawkeye, captain america, Black widow.                                                                       In New York city, Loki and his robot villains are trying to destroy the earth and Loki has gotten out of hand by making these robots come out of the sky. He also made hawkeye evil but at the end you’ll see what happens to him.


When Loki got to New York city, he wanted the whole world to be his, so he thought he could destroy the whole city. He is doing this because Loki is jealous and angry and he thinks he can be a much better king than Thor. He takes revenge against His brother by attacking the world Thor loves.


There were these robots that looked like big long bugs flying out of the sky into New York city. The avengers used their powers and skills to defeat the robots. Loki thought he was more powerful than Thor and The Avengers and that he could use his friends to destroy New York city.


After The Avengers defeated the robots, Loki thought they were not more powerful than them. Then Hulk came in and Threw Loki across the room in the Avengers building while the Avengers were finished defeating the robots. Then hawkeye got hit and came back to normal after black widow came to see if hawkeye was alright.

Should New Zealand Open Its borders?


Introduction

The border is where we can travel outside of New Zealand but if the government decides to close its borders then it might be because something has happened or like now it's because we’re in lockdown and no one can come to New zealand.


I think that we should not open the borders because then other people can come to new zealand without knowing there is covid 19 in new zealand. Another reason why is because people can also bring covid 19 here and that's mainly how people get coronavirus in their countries.




Firstly i think we shouldn’t open the borders simply because covid 19 spreads everywhere and it's really risky if we would open the borders.

But I do think that we should open the borders when everything is clear and there are no more cases in New Zealand.



Secondly i think we shouldn’t open the borders because it would help us get less cases from people traveling to New Zealand instead of the borders being open so everyone from around the world can give us covid 19.


If we would open the borders than people from around the world probably wouldn’t get warnings that we are in lockdown and if we

there would be no point because we can’t travel while we are in lockdown.


Lastly i think that we shouldn't open the borders because its very dangerous and if we wanted to open the borders i think we should wait until there are no cases.

Hello my name is Brooklyn and for this week we have been doing reading writing
and math in lockdown. For this week we had to read 3 online books, we did a few math 
problems,and we even got to choose to activitys for this week and i chose to write 
my name in chinese and make a collage about new zealand or and culture you would 
like to pick. what its mainly about is all the cultures and in the slides there were some
questions of your thoughts on those questions. My favourite thing we did with online 
learning in lockdown was the collage because i put a few different pictures what cook
island looks like and all the food fruit they have.

Are hakas good for you?

                                      Are hakas good for you?

Introduction

I think that hakas are good for us because we can learn new hakas and try something. Another reason why is because we can perform hakas in front of people.


Firstly, I think that hakas are good for us because they can be used to scare off an opponent and because there are more than one haka you can learn from. When people perform hakas there are a lot of different places to perform hakas like at school’s, rugby games, on stage and a lot more places, and when they perform they could be performing more than one haka.


Traditionally hakas were made for the men before they went to war and the word haka means war dance. When people do hakas they make aggressive facial expressions to scare off an opponent.


Secondly, I think that hakas are good for us because they are used as dances or challenges. Hakas sometimes would also be used when other people come to New Zealand so we welcome them to New Zealand with a haka or a dance.


Lastly, I think that hakas are good for us because it can be enjoyable to do the haka or there might be some actions that you like about hakas and dances. When people do haka they have a loud voice, sharp actions, and aggressive facial expressions. When your in school you can also join something called kapa haka and its where you can learn how to do hakas,songs,and dances with a whole group.

and created a story about who she is and how much a trouble maker she is. I think
 you should read this and how spoiled she is. our whole class got to make a world's
worst children and come up with there own name too.

For our reading this week we thought of something that is an issue every day and i chose
littering. We created a DLO to show what this might look like. I also read somebooks and
a article about school bells. i got to find two different view points to say what they thought
of littering. I wrote down facts on the DLO about littering and plastic that you might want 
to know about.

A4 white paper,pencil,colouring pencils or felt pens,scissors.

1.Firstly sketch out your own design of your superhero mask. Draw two holes on the side for the back of the head piece so you can cut it out. Also draw eyes so you can look through your mask.this is also optional but you can also but designs on your superhero mask.

2.Next colour in your mask with the choice of two or more different colours.

3.Then cut out your mask where you the holes on the side and where you drew the eyes.

4.Lastly get a little bit of paper and cut off a strip of paper to fit inside the two holes on the side.

Done!

Reading T2 W7

 

Hello my name is Brooklyn and today for reading i did a whole lot of stuff
this week. I read books and i inferred about some stuff on the blog, i even got 
to make my own song and there is a link on the slide to my song. one thing 
i really liked about reading is making music.

Writing T2 W7

Hello my name is Brooklyn and this week for writing i wrote about animals.
The first writing i got to pick what ever animal i wanted to choose i write why
i would be that animal if i could choose any animal in the world. my second 
writing was about a dog making a crime and stealing diamonds and supermarket
food and going to jail for 5 months they were both made up stories.

My Tivavave patterns



 Hello and today i made tivaevae patterns. i used coloured paper and cut out patterns to create this tivaevae. two things i really like about my tivaevae patterns are that they are very colorful and bright.
